Salma Hayek

SalmaSalma Hayek Pinault, born Salma Valgarma Hayek-Jamesenez on September 2, 1966 is an American and Mexican actress and producer. In Mexico she started her acting career playing the role of Teresa in the television series (1989-1991) and also as El Callejon de los Milagros (1995) which was the film in which she received an Ariel Award. She quickly made herself known in Hollywood with appearances in films such as Desperado (1995), From Dusk till Dawn (1996), Wild Wild West (1999) and Dogma (1999). Hayek's portrayal as painter Frida Kahlo in the biographical film Frida (2002) and the film she also co-produced and directed, was the first Mexican actress to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Actress[6] and additionally earned her Golden Globe Award, Screen Actors Guild Award and British Academy Film Award nominations. In the following years, Hayek focused more on filmmaking while also appearing in action-oriented movies like Once Upon a Time in Mexico
